A Marketing Whirlwind

Wow, this info is actually applicable
Although this is not my first rodeo with marketing classes, I feel that I have learned an incredible amount about marketing that is applicable to my life in the last three weeks since class has started. In the last three weeks I have started marketing courses that help me achieve my minor in marketing. It doesn't end there. I was given the opportunity to be an intern with the Fox Valley Park District in the Marketing and Communications Department.

Social Media Marketing Course
The other marketing classes I have taken at Aurora University have given me knowledge about marketing that I will use in the future. I am amazed at how much I have learned since classes and my internship have started, all of which I can apply right NOW.

Tools I've learned to use at my internship
Hootsuite, Weebly, Blogger, Google+, and even about.me are tools of the trade recently introduced to me. These social media tools were taught in my Social Media Marketing class. On the other hand, at my internship I have learned how to use Animoto to make videos that will be published to the Fox Valley Park District's website and on their monitors in the facilities. Also at my internship I have learned to use Constant Contact to create e-blasts that will be sent to over 30,000 members.

What's Next...
I realized that I am incredibly interested in marketing during my sophomore year of my undergrad at Aurora University. It wasn't until my senior year that I realized how applicable it can be to my life even while I am still in school. I hope to obtain as much knowledge as possible through the remaining marketing classes I have here at Aurora along with the real world knowledge I am learning at my marketing internship.
