
It is known that people spend about 8 seconds on an advertisement before they lose interest. This is where the importance of mobile access comes in. If a customer visits a website that is not mobile friendly, they will spend a large portion of that 8 seconds zooming in and trying to navigate the non mobile friendly website.
Now, if the site is mobile friendly, they will be able to find what they need right away, wasting less of that 8 seconds. Our guest speaker told us it is more expensive to convert all of their webpages and advertisements to be mobile friendly, but the payoff is worth it. At my internship my boss works with a department that is converting the Fox Valley Park District websites to be mobile friendly, but she is the one that has to test and approve the changes.
